Picture Frame for Dads

in Activities,Crafts

On Father’s Day, help your students make a priceless gift they can give dad. For this craft, you will need:

· Small wooden picture frame (color is not important)

· Black paint (acrylic is best)

· Paint brushes

· Washers, nuts, and bolts

· Photograph of each student (take the week before or use a Poloriod caera)

· Permanent adhesive glue

· Sticky magnets

· Lunch sized paper sacks, any color

Start by painting the frame black, and letting it dry. You may need to do this for the children ahead of time or do it the week before. Remove the glass from the picture frame before you paint.

Use the glue to attach the nuts, bolts, and washers to the outside of the frame. Let the students arrange them as they want. Once the frame is completely dry, put your student’s picture inside and place the glass back on. If it is light enough to hang on a refrigerator, add magnetic strips to the back.

Help the students decorate paper sacks with special notes to their dads. These will serve as gift bags.
