Put all of the words of your chosen memory verse on a slip of paper, one word per slip. Then, blow up balloons, slipping one slip inside each one. Scatter the balloons across the classroom. Have the children race to pop the balloons and put the slips in order to make the verse.
To make this a game, divide the class into two teams (such as boys vs. girls). Then, direct the teams to only pop balloons of certain colors. Make two copies of the verse slips, and put one verse in one color of balloon, and the other copy in the other color of balloon. The first team to pop the balloons, recover the slips, and put them in order wins.
Practice the verse with the slips by having the children quote the verse. Then, take a slip away and have them quote it again. Repeat this until all of the slips are gone. Some children will have the verse memorized at this point.
When you are done, have the children race to pick up the pieces of the popped balloons. The child/team with the biggest pile wins the race.
